3 Favorite Books you'll love

3 of my favorite books I think you’ll love: 4 min read by Chris Rea

Every time I finish reading a good book, every single time, I am:

  1. Satisfied.
  2. A little sad.

Satisfied because, well, I finished reading an actual book from start to finish. If you know me, that is a major accomplishment. The way my personality is wired, I usually have about 4 books going at the same time.  And, you know, three chapters into all of them.

So the feeling of accomplishment I get from finishing a book, nothing like it!

At the same time though, I also feel a little sad because I know finding a book equally as engaging and meaningful can be hard to find. That’s why I absolutely love it when people recommend good books to me.

(Here are 6 books that changed our lives & 9 marriage books we recommend all the time.)

Today, I thought I would help you find your next great read and share with you 3 of my favorite books I think you’ll love. Hope they help you as much as they helped me.

1. The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson

This book, written in 2011, isn’t new but was new to me. And truly, it was one of those books I didn’t want to put down. The Circle Maker reignited my passion to pray bold, faith-filled prayers and trust God to answer those prayers in His way and in His time. With everything going on in the world right now, we need to be praying authentic and bold prayers. If you are looking for a book that both teaches you to pray and gives you a ton of stories about answered prayer, look no further.

2. The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer

Fact: This is actually a Bible study geared toward women. But regardless of your gender, don’t let that deter you, because I truly haven’t found a better study on the armor of God than this. And even though Priscilla Shirer addresses women throughout, this study works for either sex. If you are a Christian and you have never studied spiritual warfare, this book is a great place to start. There is also a video curriculum that goes with each segment of the book. However, you don’t have to watch the videos to read the book. I do highly recommend it though! Here’s a link if you’re interested.

Interactive Bibles studies like this are so practical because not only are you reading, but you’re also prompted with steps to take action. In these weird times we’re living in, it has never been more important to study the Word and know how to take your stand against the enemy. And P.S. there’s a teen version as well!

3. Called to Create by Jordan Rainer

If you are a creative, you need to read this book. If you are an entrepreneur, you need to read this book. And if you are a creative entrepreneur, do not waste another second before you get this book in your hot little hands.

From the opening chapter when Rainer declares God as the first creative entrepreneur, you’ll be hooked.

This book practically teaches you how to embrace entrepreneurship and creativity as a means of glorifying God, loving others, and making disciples of Jesus Christ. Plus, much like the Circle Maker, it is packed with stories to inspire.

So, there you have it. My top 3 book recommendations to read while you’re at home right now. Sure you could use this season to watch all the Netflix and play video games, but why not use this time to your advantage, engage your brain muscles, be productive, and learn something you maybe didn’t know before.

What if you utilized this season to grow closer to God and launch something new?!

Who knows, this time “at home” could be the blessing in disguise that catapults you into a new and exciting season of life.

Which one are you adding to your reading list? And if you have any recommendations for us, please let us know!

Until next time,

Chris
