RECAP: What Went Down At The First No Small Life Gathering
3 min read by Chris Rea
You guys!
The First-Ever No Small Life Gathering was a huge success! There aren’t enough words to adequately thank everyone who joined us that evening. We truly felt supported by each life there and full candor, we had a TON of fun!
Many of you also sent us encouraging notes, emails, and social media messages. It blessed us more than you will ever know!
In addition to all the delicious caffeine and ice cream 20 Front Street served up, Megan and I shared some exciting things happening with the NSL organization.
In case you couldn’t make it out, we thought a recap of the night would be in order! So keep reading, because there are a few exciting things to share!
Here’s what the evening looked like in 3 parts:
1.What No Small Life has been up to lately.
No Small Life produces content designed to help people rise above the circumstances that keep their lives feeling small.
We write blogs, vlogs, sermons, sermon series, ebooks, etc. All designed to walk people through a series of 5 steps; the 5 Steps we personally designed after walking through infertility. We lived them and now seek to help others through them:
-
Rediscover Hope
-
Create a Vibrant Spiritual Life
-
Engage In Thriving Relationships
-
Excel In Practical Living
-
Make a Difference In The Lives Of Others
When you subscribe to the blog, each week we walk you through these 5 steps by giving you a free resource designed to help you move forward in one of these areas.
Since its origination, No Small Life has been able to create an incredible online community of people whose lives are being changed and transformed by the content in these steps.
At the gathering, through smiles and tears, we shared a few stories of transformation from these beautiful lives.
2. We have partnered with two organizations & embarked on a few “Special Projects.”
We’ve collaborated with two organizations who empower people whose lives were deemed small and insignificant to do special projects.
1. Mend on the Move:
Mend on the Move is a local Detroit organization which employs women coming out of addiction and/or abuse to make handcrafted jewelry from upcycled auto parts #motorcity 😉
We’re honored to partner with them and present to you with the “No Small Life” cuff.
Each hand-stamped cuff, with its slight, yet beautiful imperfections, serves as both a reminder to yourself and a means to empower its maker to live from this one universal truth:
Your life is NOT small.
And P.S.: They make GREAT gifts!
(Currently sold out of the Gold but do have a few Silver in stock! Click here for the Silver & we’ll let you know when the gold is back in.)
2. Furnace Hills Coffee:
Furnace Hills produces, “special coffee roasted by special people.”
Frustrated by the lack of opportunities for his daughter Erin, a young lady with Down Syndrome, Dave Baldwin started Furnace Hills Coffee. Furnace Hills sources fair-trade coffee beans from around the globe & only employs people with developmental disabilities as their roasters!
Then they freshly roast coffee and ship it to your door. And you guys…*drumroll*…they created a No Small Life Roast!
I. Know! (Megan LITERALLY almost passed out from excitement.)
It’s a blend of African and Asian coffee beans that is rich, nutty, smooth, and this is very technical…AMAZING!!!!
In addition, we’re currently working with them to determine the best way to bring this coffee right to you! Stay tuned!!!!
Additional Special Projects
As specific needs arise, we will give money to people whose lives feel small and help them get back on their feet. We recently helped a couple erase all of the medical debt that piled up due to infertility treatments and appointments. We also tried to help them pick up the pieces after getting some disappointing and devastating news.
3. Where No Small Life is Going.
More and More Content
We are going to continue to produce as much FREE content as possible and get it on as many platforms as we can. WordPress, Youtube, podcasts, etc. We also plan to create some paid online courses people can take as well.
No Small Life Marketplace
Megan has an incredible vision to have a Marketplace full of products we use every day but made by people whose lives were once deemed small and insignificant.
People like Mend on the Move.
People like the Furnace Hills.
This would start online and may even become a brick and mortar store someday.
