If there’s one trend I never thought I’d dabble in, it was Camo.
Camouflage was for boys, and GI Joe Dolls Action Figures and Spice Girls.
Buuuttt, I changed my tune a year ago and I’m glad I did because I could wear my Camo Jacket Evry. Day. If you let me. It acts as a neutral
#shocker and goes with so much more than you would think.
I got my Camo jacket last year at Express for $25 after some very strategic couponing. But here and here are a couple of other options currently in stores, should you be in the market for little camo in your life.
We put ourselves in boxes so many times with our style. We shy away from even trying things on out of fear and intimidation.
But you know how you get over “fearing” wearing a certain style?
You wear it.
You rock it with confidence, even if that confidence is faked at first. 😉
The world will indeed keep spinning while you wore something you previously might not have.
Don’t let the perceptions of others ever keep you in a fearful fashion box.
Within boundaries of honor and modesty, celebrate your precious No Small Life through your style. You are SO MUCH MORE than your outer appearance, BUT it is your billboard to the world.
So go ahead and break your own fashion rules a little. You just might be glad you did.
So by now I’m sure you’re thinking, “Maybe I COULD wear camo, but what do I wear it with?” I’m so glad you asked. Here are 3 ways you can style your future camo jacket and NOT look like a GI Joe Doll Action Figure.
First Up, we’re going über girly. We’re going Sequins.
A little neutral sparkle is just what the camo in your life could be craving. This loose fitting tank is from Express. Necklace is The Limited and the Stella & Dot Bracelet was gifted to me from my Bestie.
Gold Cap toe flats have a few seasons of wear and are from Forever 21. Cropped Jeans are from Express.
Watch is Jolie and Ring is courtesy of a-l-m-o-s-t 14 years of marriage. Bam, and yep you guessed it. Got married when I was 11 😉
Midi Ring Stack Express also in this post and Sally Hansen Mojito on the nails also featured in this post.
Next up, a little print mixing shall we? Let’s go stripes.
These two patterns work well together here because they’re in the same color family.
Tassel Necklace is from the Limited a few seasons back. Long Sleeve Tee is from, you guessed it, Express. Hey man, there’s one 5 min from my house lol. And because I really can’t take myself too seriously…
the classic nonchalant “I freeze all the time in mid-air pose.”
And if you look very closely, you will see my watch falling off right around the knee region.
#nailedit
Last up in the Camo festivities is mixing it with a brighter color. Today we’re going bright pink, but I’ve also been known to go neon yellow. Gettin’ Crazy.
This “Classic” V-neck T is from Gap. I love the fit and they wash up great.
Thanks so much for stopping by to celebrate style and maybe, just maybe, try something different.
What’s on your Spring Fashion Wish Year? Any Camo? 😉
Until Next Time,
Meg

Never thought to wear camo with a little sparkle!! LOVE this idea. And, oh my… blogger malfunction! Too funny you caught the watch falling off in action!
Thanks Carrie! Haha, I know right? Gotta be real, I noticed it as I was editing. Thankfully, no watches were harmed in the shooting of this process ?
I like the cut on that jacket and I love it with the sequins.
Thanks so much Jenn! Yea, it does nip in at the waist a little bit so it’s not quite so boxy ?so glad you stopped by!
Hi Megan, I might be over the hill but I still enjoy dressing and love all the ways you have shown that you can wear your jacket with different looks. Love the cameo, you made a great choice, and of course “I Love Sparkle” that never goes out of style. Thanks for sharing on Friday Features this week, stop by my WW post as well.
Someone took some great photos of you, whats your secret?
Wishing you a Happy Easter!
Karren
xoxo
Hi Karren! Thank you so much, I personally, think you’re a great dresser! 😉 You’re so right, a little sparkle is always in style 🙂 My sister took the photos. She has a very good camera, much better than my usual iphone! 🙂 But let’s just say, there were quite a few pics that landed on the cutting room floor as well 😉 Happy Easter Karren! Always love when you stop by.
You rock the girly camo look!
So sweet of you, Thanks SO much! 🙂 🙂
I’ve recently developed a collection of camo pants! I love how they are essentially a neutral, but with a bit of pizazz. The pink shirt/jacket combo is so fun.
Ooo Camo pants, that’s my next venture 😀 Where did you find some that you liked?
I found my favorite pair from the gap last year!
Good to know! Love Gap. AND…they have 40% off right now. Just sayin’ ?
Stopping by from the Home Matters Linky party! I love what you said about not allowing other people’s perceptions limit us. I also love these three styles!
Thanks Sharlee! So glad you stopped by! ☺️
I love that jacket. I really need to get it, like now. I never liked camo because it was very manly. The funny thing is, I am a tomboy and I like dark colors. I love the way you dressed it up with the sparkly tank, and I absolutely loved it with the striped tank. The pink shirt also went really with it. Thanks for the wardrobe inspiration!
Haha, thanks Christina!! You would rock that camo jacket! ?so glad you stopped by!
This is just SO flippin’ adorable! Also, have a million people told you you look just like Dr. Elliott Reid from Scrubs? She’s beautiful 🙂
That is so sweet Lo☺️thanks you! I actually have gotten that a couple of times. So glad you stopped by!
You’re so stylish and I love your styling tips! Thanks for partying with us at Pretty Pintastic Party, where every post gets pinned! Sarah, Sarah Sofia Productions
Gosh, thats sweet of you. Thanks Sarah, so glad you stopped by! 🙂
Love your pairings, especially the sequins! I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of camo pants…from the thrift store. You see, I am a high-end thrifted fashion blogger based out of Albuquerque, NM. Nothing quite like the ‘thrill of the hunt’!

The “thrill of the hunt!” Love that darlene, keep me posted on the camo pants!
Very cute looks! Up until last year I didn’t camo belonged in my closet, either. Boy, was I wrong! I love how surprisingly versatile it is.
It really is isn’t it?! Here’s to being daring 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Jennie!
I have always said I wouldn’t give into the camo trend, but you made it look so good! Your jacket is so pretty, and all the accessories made it look girly and cute. Thanks for sharing this with Hump Day Happenings!
Thanks Jenna! 🙂 Take the plunge! 😉 Its way more versatile than you would think.
Your 3 Ways to Wear Camo post is one of the featured links this week. You look amazing!
Thank so much for linking up each week to Celebrate It! I sure appreciate it!
Oh my gosh Teri, thank you so much! Thanks for hosting!!
Love your outfit and you are so pretty! I’ve always been afraid to wear camo for fear of looking hipsterish (it’s before 6 am so that’s totally a word). Might just have to reconsider!
You are so sweet Heather, and I like your made-up word! 🙂 Hope you try it out, so glad you stopped by!
So cute. Pinned and tweeted. We appreciate you being a part of our party. Please stop by on Monday at 7 pm. Happy Saturday! Lou Lou Girls
Thanks so much!
Love the sequin top beneath the jacket!!
Thanks for stopping by Friday Features Linky party this week to share your post!!
Have a great weekend!
Karren
Thanks Karren!
Super cute! I love all the styles. Whenever I try to recreate something that looks cool, I usually just look awkward. 😉 Thanks for sharing at Idea Box!
No way Danielle, you can totally pull it off! 🙂
Cracking up at the Spice Girls comment! I don’t own anything camo currently but with Autumn coming I may need to invest in a jacket. I really like it styled with the striped top!
haha, thanks Lauren! That’s right you’re gearing up for Autumn, you just might “have” to get a new jacket then 🙂
I love the camo jacket! I’m very girly in my outfit choices, this is such a creative way to incorporate a new print. I like how the camo is subtle in that jacket too. Thanks for linking up today!

Thanks so much Lisa! Looking forward to stopping by tomorrow 🙂
So cute! I bought a camo blouse a couple months back and I absolutely LOVE it! My favorite thing to wear with it are my leopard flats. 🙂
Oooo, that’s such a cute combo! Bet it looks great on you 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Ok, the way you styled that jacket is perfection. I live in the south and have always shied away from camo just because of how it is portrayed down here. But, you have given me the confidence to try to rock a fitted camo jacket. Good job, you!
So, your comment made me smile so much! Thanks Jessica!! You go and rock that camo jacket with confidence!! So glad you stopped by! 🙂
Love this, Megan! I have a great camo jacket that has been sitting in my closet for months. It’s the perfect weight for our Colorado spring, but I couldn’t figure out how to wear it. After reading your post, I made a list of six shirts/tees/camis currently in my closet that would go great with my poor, sad, unworn camo jacket. Thanks for the inspiration!
Tiffany, that makes me ridiculously excited. You don’t even know! Enjoy all your “new” outfits! PS, I’ve worn it with a lace shirt and that looks great too?oh the options! ?
Being from Alabama, Camo is kind of a way of life. I do love to wear it occasionally. Love your jacket!
Camo is a way of life! What an awesome quote! haha, Thanks Logan! 🙂
Totally girly sill 🙂 Love this jacket!

Thanks so much BreAnna!
Can’t believe I’m reading this because I never wear camo, but have a dear daughter in law whose husband (my son) loves it. Will pass this on to her! Happy to have met you at Faith and Fellowship.
Thanks Michele! so glad you stopped by 🙂
So, so cute!!! Now I’m on the hunt for more camo – which would make me the coolest mom in the eyes of my boys!
Thanks Jen! You would get major points from your boys! 🙂
Your great post has validated me!!! I am much older than you are and I wear camo. As a matter of fact I got a camo jacket very similar to yours, believe it or not, in the men’s department of Walmart. It was a Men’s small and I just loved the cut of it. I wear it just like you do….striped grey shirt, bright colors, burgundy, with or without a scarf. It is perfect for our weather now and I get compliments all the time!
What a find! I bet that jacket looks great on you! 🙂
I love the sparkly top, it does make it more feminine. Thanks for posting. Hello from Clever Chicks Blog Hop.
Thanks so much Melissa! So glad you stopped by! 🙂
Gorgeous Megan, I love the sparkly top and also the pink top underneath, very feminine. #wineddown
Thats so sweet of you Natalie 🙂 So glad you stopped by!
Hi Megan! You could totally rock a burlap sack, but I’m definitely diggin’ the camo vibe with the stripes! I’m featuring you at this week’s Clever Chicks Blog Hop, thanks for linking up!
I sent you an email from my Kathy@The-Chicken-Chick.com account, but I suspect it found its way into your spam folder. Could you possibly email me? I have a proposition for you!

A camo dress, now you’re talking! ? I think I’m going to be in the market for some camo pants this fall 🙂 thanks Jenn!!
First of all, your pictures are awesome! I also love your sparkly top…I have a similar one and my girls are always complaining that I don’t wear it enough! I don’t wear camo a lot but I like the way you really make it work with your outfit. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Share The Wealth Sunday!

Thank you Lisa!! It can be hard to find things to go with a sparkly top can’t it? Thanks so much for hosting!!
Oh my goodness! You are adorable and have inspired me to look for a camo jacket (and to tighten my watch!). ?
