Our passion surrounding No Small Life is to continually encourage you to push against the mundane, never settling for mediocre and live a life worth celebrating!
With that in mind, we’re launching a new feature: “How we celebrated life.” If Chris & I are encouraging YOU to celebrate life, then we best be living out our own mission as well don’t you think? 😉
This week amidst work and life and family gatherings we carved out a little time for one of our “non-negotiables” in life: date night. If you remember from this post, we believe date night to be a crucial part to any relationship in every season. And I don’t know about you, but June seems to be a pretty busy and expensive month ’round these parts. Between Grad Parties, Father’s Day, Weddings, and “somebody’s” birthday (she said pointing conspicuously to her head) we knew keeping our date night budget to a minimum would be key.
So here’s what we did. We went to Whole Foods (a.k.a. A Happy Happy Place), filled up their to-go containers with epic amounts of healthy food, and had a picnic at the park. The weather was UNBELIEVABLE and once we found a spot far enough away to ensure we wouldn’t become a target for flying Frisbees, we were set. We ate, chilled and played a pr-e-tty mean game of catch using Velcro mits and a tennis ball.
Here’s my Mr. Looking all cool eating his Asian food.
And yes, the sunshine was literally that bright
Thankfully, we had gone sunglasses shopping earlier that week:
“How you doin’?”
And then there’s me, chowin’ down on all of the allergy-free yumminess that one can cram into a cardboard container:
Thanks Whole Foods.
Then, since picnicking, we thought it only appropriate to “cloud gaze.”
Amidst cloud gazing we also thought it only appropriate to capture the moment. What resulted was about 17 hilarious pictures. Have you ever taken pictures from that angle? I’m here to tell ya, not the most flattering lol Here’s the only one you’re getting. It won out over the others because well frankly, it was the one with the fewest chins. And ALSO, I love a good “mid-laugh candid.”
So there’s a mini peak into “How we celebrated life” this week AND a little inexpensive date night inspiration as well.
“BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!” We want to see how YOU are celebrating life this week! So, capture a few treasured moments and hashtag them using #nosmalllife
Can’t wait to see all of you living in Freedom, Fullness and Joy!
Until next time,
Meg
